Lesson Seven:The importance of moving people step-by-step

                        (Sometimes called Pre-evangelism)

1.         You live a post-Christian society where the foundational truths of Christianity cannot be taken for granted.

--People do not know biblical content

--People have unbiblical views of Christianity

2.         We have the responsibility of communicating the Gospel to our generation.

--People will not know unless they have heard

--Evangelism is the responsibility of each person

--Most people come to Christ because of a one to one relationship

3.         We cannot separate this work from the work of the Holy Spirit, this is not a mere academic exercise.

--Be praying for those you share with

--Ask the Holy Spirit to open their eyes

4.         People cannot be expected to respond without receiving a certain amount of knowledge.

5.         Christianity must be presented as a space-time reality.

6.         True faith is not certainty in wanting to believe in Christianity.

7.         There must be a understanding of truth before conversion.

8.         There must be a stress that biblical spiritual experience is based on truth and not on feelings alone.

--The intellectual and emotional go together

--People must not simply make an emotion assent to Christ

9.         The relationship between God and the individual should be stressed.

10.       Guilt must be seen in terms of the reality of sin.

11.       Each person must come to see that God is there is not silent.

12.       At this point, the Gospel can be explained as the space-time answer of the real-personal God to sin, in space-time history, addressing real sin and guilt, and drawing a person into relationship with Himself.
