Deeper Training:  Bible Study
Philippians 3:7-11

Hook:

1.     What is the purpose of a baseball game?

2.     What, if anything, does that have to do with being a Christian?

Book/Look:

3.     Read Philippians 3:7-11

4.     In verse 7, what does Paul say he will do?

5.      What is the profit Paul is talking about?  What does it look like to lose those things for the sake of Christ in an American Christian’s life?  (I worded this that way because it’s too easy for us to apply this Scripture to another culture and not our own) (Matthew 16:26)

6.     In verse 8, what is the goal of Paul’s life?

7.     Where does he place all other things?

8.     Think of one example of this in modern life.

9.     In verse 9, where does Paul want to be found?

10.                        What does it mean to be “found in Christ”?  Give 3 examples of what that looks like.  (John 15:1-8)

11.                        Look at verse 10-11, what five things does Paul hope to gain from knowing Christ?

12.                        What does it mean to “know Christ”?

13.                        How can you daily know the “power of the resurrection”?

14.                        How can someone in America share in Christ’s sufferings?

15.                        What does Paul mean that you need to become like Him in His death?

Took:

16.                        Looking at the verses above, what do you need to work on the most?

17.   What is one practical step you can take to make progress?
