A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.

Mom walks in a room…no one notices
Turn the tv down…nothing happens
Husbands
who
are addressed by their wives and never acknowledge them
Realizes…she’s
invisible
Her
child’s
teacher asks her son who is with him, says Nobody
A
friend gave
her a book on the great Cathedrals of Europe
“With
admiration for the greatness of what you are building when no one
sees”
Most
Cathedrals….builder unknown
Completed without being noticed
2. You
are building a
structure which will endure beyond your own lifetime. (John 17:20)

Day
after day…over 100 to 300 years to build
You
don’t realize the stones you put in place

are part of a group of people all investing in the same

Invisibility
is a cure for
self-centeredness
But there is still a need to encourage one another
We live with expectations instead of encouragement
Its not about what I get from something
Its about what God gets….and when God
gets
My best interests are met
God wants holiness….He sends Jesus
God wants justice…He puts Himself on a
cross
God wants love…He loves us first
You do
the part God gives
you
You may not know the other parts
We are tempted to think our part is the most
important
Or that we are not important at all

amazing Miss Neff
Thomas van Beek needed the perfect secretary
Was disappointed until he found Miss Neff
Had all the skills…no matter how busy the week,
she was
never tired
After 12 years she retired
Elaborate party thrown
She showed up…identical twins
4. Each
person is moving towards the same target of God’s glory.

No
great cathedrals will be
built again
People are not willing to make this sacrifice
What
you do for the Kingdom
is for the significance of God
There is no great task
You
never know what your
sacrifice will result in

God sees you…
You are not invisible to Him
Builder carved
a bird inside where a beam would cover and no one would ever see it
again…asked
why…because God sees.
