1.         Introduction:  The Movie that angered America

2.         What is the anger monster?

How do you monitor your heart?  What lies within you?

There are things within you that can destroy you.

Proverbs 14:17; Proverbs 15:18; Proverbs 19:19

3.         You Care and Feed for the Monster when:

--You let the monster linger

Matthew 5:21

--You give the monster power over your life

4.         Introduce your Anger to Jesus, the monster slayer

-Jesus gives you weapon of forgiveness

Mt. 18:21-35

5.         This Week take:

4 Biblical Steps To Slay the monster of Anger to slay anger

            1)         Make a List of Who Owes You

            2)         Determine What You are Owed

            3)         Cancel the Debt

“Heavenly Father, _________________ has taken _____________

from me.  I have held on to this debt long enough.  I choose to cancel this debt.  _______________ doesn’t owe me anymore.  Just as you forgave me, I forgive.

You don’t have to tell them what you did, unless they ask for forgiveness.

If you tell them, sometimes it can be taken as an accusation.

            4)         Remember Your Act Regardless of Your Feelings

Bible Study:  Matthew 18:21-35

                                    8.         What has the King done for you? (Romans 5:8)

9.         In light of what the King has done for you, what should your response be, according to the parable? (Colossians 3:13)

10.        Why don’t we respond to others as the parable teaches?

11.        What does it mean to say Christ has forgiven you?  What was the price?  What did you do to earn it?  (Ephesians 2:8-9)

12.        Why is the act of forgiveness so Christ-like?  What should it look like in our everyday life?  Give concrete examples.

Took:

13.        What makes you angry?  Is there something you are angry about right now?  If you can’t share it, write it down.
