 1.           Introduction:  The Man Who Could Not Escape Himself

 2.          What image do you see when you look in a spiritual mirror?

  There is both and good and a bad way to be dead

                          “You’re a dead man”

              3.         What you gain can keep you dead.

• When you find your life, you loose your image
• Self-centeredness creates conflict, unhappiness, and lack of spiritual power
• When you loose your life you find a renewed image
• When you loose your life for Christ’s sake, you find it

   4.         Self-centeredness pulls the life from people around you

• Learn to recognize the signs –Proverbs 11:12
• People stop talking
• You discourage rather than encourage people
• You speak the truth in a critical manner, not in love

    5.         How to slay self-centeredness

• he Cross of Christ is the doorway to real life -1 Cor. 1:18
• he Cross of Christ destroys the sin in us –Galatians 6:14
• the Cross of Christ allows Jesus to live in you –Galatians 2:20

     6.         Learn to be a life-giver by:

• Choosing this week to give to someone in a way that puts them above you
• Practicing sacrificing in a new way either your time, talents, or treasure

 4.         When Jesus died on the Cross, where were you? 

 5.          When Jesus rose from the dead, where were you?

 6.         What role does faith play in our spiritual life?

                                                            7.        What motivated Christ to do this for us?

                                                            8.         What does it mean for Christ to live in us?  (Romans 6:8)

                           9.         What does it mean that you were crucified with Christ?  How has that changed you?  (Romans 12:1-2)

              10.        What are specific ways that we live by faith in Jesus?  How does that look in your family life, your work, your church, and your friendships?  (Romans 12:3)

                      13.      How can you remind yourself on a daily basis that Christ needs to be the center of everything you do?

                         15.     Pray for one another to be filled with the Holy Spirit in such a way  that Christ may be the one who rules in every area in your lives.
