Study Eight:  Christianity and You

·         Two types of people say all religions are the same

o   Religious people who believe all paths lead to heaven

o   Atheists who discount religion

·         When examined, anyone sees that all religions do not believe the same thing

·         The Darwinist says the problem with man is that he is ignorant

o   Ignorance is only half of the problem

o   Sin is the second half

·         Man cannot reach God by himself

·         God became man in order to save the rest of humanity

·         Sinfulness is in man’s nature

·         Biological death and moral failure are linked in Christianity

·         Christianity raises the bar high, requiring perfection

o   This makes God unattainable

o   God bridges the gap with Jesus

·         Christianity embraces a person

·         The resurrection is the lynch pin of the faith

·         Jesus is the most divisive person who has every lived

·         People try to twist Jesus to fit their own thinking

o   People cut Jesus down to size

o   They make them into who they want him to be

o   Christ is not neutral

·         Christianity gives life a sense of purpose
